How do y'all feel about open carry in Texas?
In my humble opinion, the ability to openly carry a firearm would be a good thing, desensitizing
the general public to the presence of firearms. This will help everybody realize that good guys
(and gals) use (and carry) firearms, too. That way, they will eventually realize that what they
hear in the news (that anybody who carrys a firearm is a criminal, cop or soldier)
is simply not true.
In addition, open carry would reduce or remove the penalty for those who carry concealed
but may temporarily fail to conceal (wind, open jacket, etc.).
On the down side, open carry also lets the bad guys know who's carrying. I still prefer concealed carry but
believe that Texas should join the many other states who allow open carry.
